The Tyler Chronicles

April 2009

It’s been a long while since the last installment of The Tyler Chronicles, so to get everyone up to speed,  I thought we’d start off with a quick article, titled,

“Ten things you need to know about Tyler….”

10.  He’s now two years, 10 months old.

9.  He loves trains, trucks, and water…not necessarily in that order.

8.  He has a new pet dog, named Kirjava (pronounced KEER-YAVA).  She will be considered a purebred, as soon as the American Kennel Club acknowledges the classification, “miscellaneous.”

7.  Tyler can use a computer mouse and cursor, and navigates the Internet at some of his favorite web sites.  No kidding.

6.  His favorite book this month is , “Go, Dog. Go!”  He has memorized the plot and can sight read, “Stop,” “Go,” “Dog,” “Red light,” “Green light.”  Again, no kidding.  I think he’s picked up my very bad habit of reading at the dinner table.  I can’t help myself, and apparently, neither can Ty.

5.  He’s now enrolled at preschool, at a wonderful place that his mom and I love.  He loves it, too; when I pick him up at the end of each day, I’m greeted with a huge smile, a shout of, “Hi, Dad!,” and a big hug.  Nine times out of ten, he’s asleep in the car within 10 minutes, completely exhausted from school.

4.  Tyler can count to twenty, and recognizes numbers out of sequence from 1 to 10.

3.  He can also read the letters of the alphabet, out of sequence.

2.  He will say “yuck!,” whenever we pass a McDonald’s, but will say, “Yum!,” when sticking his feet under my nose when I’m lying down to rest in bed.  Then he’ll burst out laughing.

1.  Ty is happy, healthy, curious, sly, a prankster, and full of joy and laughter.  He means the world to his Mom and Dad.
